how about some circumventing...?

try to send a 30MB file and see what happens. nada. email services limit the size of your attachments. try doing that with Dropbox. (dropbox.com). 

dowload it, install it, sign up and then go to your Dropbox folder on your desktop. right-click the big boy you're trying to send and choose the option "share dropbox link". all you have to do now is paste that link in the email and send it to your friend.
